It is indeed interesting. Yes, I do seem to be tall among those in busy places in Metro Manila, yet in my previous workplace, the Americans in our groups were (nearly?) all taller than I. And the people of Cornwall, at the southwest tip of England, where I lived awhile, seemed relatively short. (My father joked that they were adapted for the tunnels of the tin mining done there historically.) I hadn't much thought about what is going on with regional differences in height, one wonders if there's some credible hypothesis has been identified regarding why some places and not others.
