No, I haven't read the short stories - didn't know they had them. I'm admittedly not a fan of short stories (English Lit Major), but on occasion they work.
English Lit Majors kind of read an overwhelming number of short stories. I was also forced to write a lot of them for a creative writing class. Short stories are hard to do well. They are kind of the prose version of a haiku.
