Yeah, Sleepy Hollow was kind of doomed from the beginning. Neither lead wanted to be a lead or was prepared for it. (Prime time television is a slog - long hours, and painful.) It was both leads first big gig. The show-runners were also new to the work in some respects. And there was a lot of turn-over.
I'd agree the first two red flags were John Noble being Icabode Crane's son, and Katrina the witch being such a dull character.
