Yep, it's unfortunately why there are so many Darwin Awards or they even exist. I had a guy in law school bemoaning the existence of left turn signals (he lived out in Western Kansas, where you might see a car pass once a day? If that?). I had to tell him - come into Kansas City or a major urban area - and you'll see why. If we didn't have as many rules and regulations that we do in New York? We'd all be dead.
And some developers and science needs to be hindered. People shouldn't be allowed to do whatever they want.
