I got it to work!!

After much finagling I *finally* managed to get the pagebuilder on geocities.com to work long enough to post my revised Fatals essay to my site. Thanks to D'H and LittleBit! Also managed to remove those sample chapters from my book that I'd posted this past summer. Yay, me! Of course the dang internet kicked me out five times during it, once I had to reboot my computer because it froze, and the stupid pagebuilder launcher doesn't always load right.
Which means, I'll probably not be able to post that impossibly long and footnote ridden essay "Pitfalls of Television". People will just have to hunt through the atpobtvsats archives if they want to find it. May try to do the Cordelia one - it's shorter and not as difficult to upload.

Ah updates...feeling much more positive

Just installed nifty Xmas gift from Kid Brother (which reminds me, have to get Kid Bro a gift still)
it's called Visual Theasurus - available at Amazon.com and very cool. This thing literally looks up all the meanings of a word and draws a visual map -on your computer. You can copy a word from a document, past in visual theasurus and vice versa!
The award for innovative gift-giving goes once again to Kid Bro.

Also just got off the phone with my friend, CW, who still works at the *evil* company. She informs me that evil company and evil boss has gotten worse, so my decision to leave evil company in 2002 with no job in place was *not* a bad decision. Apparently evil boss just fired my old assistant (poor girl - she was a single mom with two kids), and the person who took over my old job? She finally called it quits and handed in her resignation. At any rate, very happy to reconnect with CW, doing lots of reconnecting with friends right now, makes the whole job thing easier to deal with somehow. CW is being asked to do a Neilsen survey and promises to tell me what it involves. I begged her to watch ATS, she's normally an Everwood fan, but might do it for me.

Trying not to succumb to the compulsion to do the new meme floating about. I'm a sucker for memes. Must pass on the meme.

Oh - this is weird - for some reason livejournal isn't letting me respond to posts in my own journal today. I can update my journal but not respond to comments to it. Strange.
And somewhat frustrating.
