Lovely day, too bad had to spend 85% of it inside a building with no visible windows. Did however take a walk around Rufus King Park at lunch. Nice park - huge, with trees, and grass, and benches, and a playground - really nice considering the area. Behind it is a bankrupt hospital, which notably went bankrupt a week after I got six stitches in my right eyebrow in the emergency room. Long story short - I got mugged by the sidewalk. Makes life interesting on rainy days.
Managed to make it 40 some years without any sprains or fracture, hit my forties, and voila.
Oh well, could have fractured my head, as opposed to spraining my ankle. (I'm fine now - that was last year). Got a lot of compliments this past weekend - apparently I look 36. People did not believe I was 43. I had to work to convince them. Which is admittedly flattering. And ahem, maybe I shouldn't bother correcting folks and just go with it?? Granted have strands of gray hair, but I know people in their 20s with strands of gray hair - plus you can dye that.

Watched season finale of Chuck last night - it was better than the entire season of Chuck. If the season had been as enjoyable as that episode, I'd have watched it over House, no, wait, probably not. Maybe instead of How I Met Your Mother or Life Unexpected - which was lame and no Gilmore Girls, Parenthood actually comes closer to Gilmore Girls but that's only because it has the marvelous Lauren Graham, while Life Unexpected feels a bit like watching Gilmore Girls except with Rory and Jesse as the leads and none of the other characters present, which is problematic since I did not like Rory and Jesse that much. (As an aside, Fox and ABC have this annoying habit of programming tv series five to six minutes past when they are supposed to air and end - as an attempt to foil DVR tapers like myself. It results in not being able to tape two shows airing at the same time and a show airing immediately after. Yes, I remember the days in which you couldn't watch two shows airing at the same time at all. Why I am whinging about this - I've no clue. Because I can, I suppose.)

Also been watching Justified - which is really good. Acting, writing, and direction.
Doesn't have a lot of female characters in it, but can't say I care all that much.

Oh for Wire fans, the actor who had guest-starred on Supernatural as Uriel and was on the Wire?
Is now on Burn Notice. I've gotten very good at spotting favorite character actors. No, haven't seen the Wire yet, will attempt to fit it in between netflix rentals of True Blood S2 and Dexter S4 - which I've struggled to remain unspoiled on. Didn't quite manage it on Dexter - damn your eyes, EW and TV Guide and just about every other news media source out there.

Don't like The Good Guys or Parks and Recreation - the humor is too telegraphed.
I don't like being told I'm supposed to laugh and an embarrassment humor doesn't work for me.
Community and CougarTown on the other hand have potential. Particularly Community - which appears to be a situation comedy with an innovative sitch, and
interesting as well as diverse characters - as opposed to basically all white pretty model types who have clearly had botux injections (I'm looking at you CougarTown). That said, do they only have one older male Indian actor in all of Hollywood? The same guy has played the principal on Glee, the father of a young Indian doctor on Nip/Tuck and the father of an Indian student on Community. Adore the credit sequence in this series - this has got to be the most innovative credit title sequence I've seen done in quite some time.

What to watch this summer? Most of my shows appear to be on USA. Although there are a couple on
F/X still, and BBC America.

*In Plain Sight, Burn Notice, Leverage, Royal Pains, and the new Covert Ops.
*Persons Unknown - I'm giving a test drive
*Community, Cougartown, - giving a test drive
*Friday Night Lights - really, really good. If you aren't watching this brilliantly acted and written drama, you don't know what you are missing. It's like a novel for TV. And no, I don't like football either, but FNL isn't really about it - its about race, gender, and class relations in a Texas town.
*Mad Men (in August)
*The Gates - a test drive
*Haven on Syfy - a test drive
*Merlin - rather enjoying it
*Eureka - may try it again, bored me last season
*On netflix: True Blood S2, Dexter S4, Wire, Weeds, No 1 LAdies Dectective Agency, Extras and assorted movies that I missed in theaters last year
*Doctor Who, Ashes to Ashes, Torchwood, and Being Human S2
*TNT - The Closer
*My Farscape DVDS - which I got this past Xmas.

This in between all the other things I'm doing which I won't bore you with.

If there's something else you think I should try - feel free to rec. (Note - I've already tried Bones, Castle, and all the procedurals, also already tried the Stargates...they didn't exactly take the first go around.)
