I'm seeing Janis Ian perform tomorrow night and can't wait. She's my favorite folk-singer. In particular for this song.

Remember falling in love with this song when I was 15. It still resonates, even more so now than back then. I rarely pay to see people perform in concert - mostly due to the venue which is noisy bars where you can't hear them let along anything else. She's playing in the Unitarian Church Sanctuary, and the cost is right on target. ie. Cheap for NYC.

Just finished watching Justified - "Thy Brother's Keeper" - this show is so good. And this season it fixes the weak points of last season, with not one but about five very well-developed, multi-faceted, different ages, different body types and races of women. From the black female marshall to Mags Bennet, an old woman of the hills and this season's villain, who may be the most multi-faceted female villain that I've seen grace the small screen since Glenn Close's Patty Hewes in Damages.
You feel for her, at the same time you fear her. Masterful and understated performances.

Also, it has a sense of humor to it. That snarky Elmore Leonard quirk. Reminds me a little of Terriers, but much better written - with far more developed supporting characters. And since I loved Terriers, that is saying something. Second Season is even better than the first.
