Half watching Season 3 True Blood - and thinking, wait is this the one in which Sookie and Alicide accidentally kill someone and spend half the book trying to hide it? True Blood is an example of a series adapted from books, but really doesn't follow them that closely except by taking bits and pieces here and there. No loss. Harris had some nifty ideas but was not quite up on the execution.

Sookie: You're soo warm
Alcide (shirtless): IT's a were thing
Sookie: Oh, I thought you were coming down with flu.

LOL!

The tv writers are definitely better with dialogue. The above was from the show not the books. I gave the books away some time ago.

Course...it helps that I'm watching this after a really bad episode of House - which should have been good with Candice Bergen and Donal Logue guest-starring. But I was bored. And then a really dull episode of Gossip Girl - considering it was the season finale...does not bode well for my continued viewing. DVR has made it possible for me to watch one too many tv shows.

Jeeze there's a lot of beating up of women in this season of True Blood. Particularly by Bill. Making Eric preferable at the moment. Will give Pacquin credit for making a character that annoyed me in the books, somewhat likable in the series.

The newspaper was scarey this morning, between dire predictions of the end of days (seriously - there's this crazy guy who has self-published a book and spent over a 100 million advertising it - stating that May 21, 2011 is the Rapture and a giant earthquake will destroy the world on that date - it's been every day for the last five weeks - he has about 40,000 followers, one spent 140,000 of his savings to get the word out...the prediction is based on calculations in the Bible...yes, proof that Christianity has its crazy zealots too - I don't know where you're going to be at 6pm on Sat, but I plan on eating dinner with my Aunts and seeing Mamma Mia on Broadway), and the serial killer on LI may be a cop, and the nasty Reuben Diaz fighting Gay marriage in the Bronx...was considering not reading the paper any longer. Starting to feel like reading a warped version of the National Enquirer. Read GWTD instead. Yes, I'm reading Girl with the Dragon Tattoo again. It takes off after about page 250. You just have to make it to page 250. That's a hell of a lot of
exposition.
