While watching Breaking Bad...I went to the bathroom (it was during a commercial) and discovered a fist sized water bug. Of course I couldn't tell at first that it was a fist-sized water bug, the light was off. I thought it was a spider and freaked. (Basically screamed and jumped back a foot.) Using a mop I got a light turned on and used a roach spray to attack it - and discovered to my considerable relief that it was not a spider but a waterbug. Gross, but I could handle it. I went to war, spray can in hand. And managed to a) kill the bug, and b) almost kill myself (sliding into my sink on the slick floor - you should see the bruise on my fat thigh - ouch).

Really not a bug person.

The problem with Breaking Bad is that the writing is so frigging good that you have to rewind to catch the bits you missed when your brain wandered off. Or you ended up fighting a humongous and rather speedy waterbug in your bathroom.

Actually it was ironic timing. The episode of BB that I was watching while fighting the bug, was the one in which they decide to cook crystal meth in infested houses getting the complete pest control treatment. Apropos..don't you think?

Since I had to stop BB to fight the bug, I got to watch the historic US women's relay race,
where the ladies not only won the gold but broke the World's Record held by Eastern Germany since the 1980s. They not only passed the record, they broke it into smithereens.
Those women could run. Quite moving. They wanted it so badly. (I was admittedly rooting for Jamaica...but I couldn't help but be moved by the US win. Sorry, I'm not really all that nationalistic at the moment.) Oh now, the Bahamas won its first gold medal in track in 60 years. That's actually even more moving.

Back to Breaking Bad? I'm half tempted to see Total Recall - just to see Bryan Cranston in the supporting role. I've become a die-hard Bryan Cranston fan. He's not pretty, but he can definitely act. Oh...and speaking of cool character actors who play anti-hero characters, Sebastian Roche is back on GH playing the dastardly psychopath Jerry Jacks.
(I actually prefer him to the pretty but overrated James Franco, who just made roll my eyes.)
