Did you know that you can make pancakes with only bananas and eggs? Stumbled on it while hunting grain-free breakfast options. Struck me as weird. I can't see how it works. Don't you need something to make the pancake hold together or rise? Won't it just become an omelet?

Brooklyn Nine-Nine did not amuse, well except for two isolated scenes with Andre Braugher...but I didn't laugh, just half-smiled. I've come to the conclusion that Andy Samberg annoys me.

Am bored with Swordspoint by Ellen Kushner - too much, as John Steinbeck and Elmore Leonard would put it - hooptedoodle - getting in the way of the story. I can't decide if half of it is intentionally satirical or not. She describes a characters eyes as being "deeply and captivatingly lavender." LOL!

I'm thinking I'm done with the romance genre and need to just jump over to sci-fi/fantasy.
But I'm curious about the two lead characters. Maybe I'll skim.

Throat is bugging me - hope this doesn't mean a cold. Hope it's just allergies. Better just be allergies.

Am irritable. Feel like I've been irritable forever. I just want to whine or rage or snark at everything. Hmmm...good news? Let's talk about tv again.

PBS is showing the entire Hollow Crown Shakespeare series - featuring Patrick Stewart,
Tom Middletstone, and Jeremy Irons on Fridays this fall. Luckily there's nothing on Friday's so no conflicts. If they'd put them on Sundays, I'd have been in trouble.

Sundays and Thursdays are insanely crowded nights for me. I'm struggling with this Thursday.
Here's the line-up:

Thursday:
1. Big Bang Theory (8pm) and Vampire Diaries (8pm)
2. Crazy One's (9:01 pm)/ Glee (9pm)/Grey's Anatomy (9pm) and starting in Oct (thank god) Reign at 9pm
3. Elementary (10:01 pm), Parenthood(10pm) and this week part II of Grey's, next week Scandal at 10pm.

Sunday:
8pm: OUAT
9pm: The Good Wife/Revenge/Whatever is on Masterpiece Theater/Walking Dead or Breaking Bad (although AMC is nice - you can pick a later showing - they repeat their series five times the same night, same with HBO).
10pm: Betrayal and either Breaking Bad or Walking Dead.

There's actually too many tv series on period. No way I can watch half the stuff I want to.
Will have to kick a few to the curb. If the pilot doesn't hold my interest in any way? Sorry, it's gone. Gone are the days that I can afford to give a tv show five episodes to grab my interest - there's too blasted many of them. It would probably help matters greatly if I had, ahem, far more discriminating and far less diverse taste, wouldn't it? There's too many cool soap operas dramas on - I can't choose amongst them. Need More Dumb Sitcoms and Boring Cop Procedurals!!! Stat!

Other bit of good news? The new Catholic Pope - Pope Francis, is sort of cool. My poor mother is very happy. She despised Pope Benedict.
