1. You know you have a problem with chocolate, when just four tiny, little, weeny pieces of chocolate/marsh-mellow candy knock you out. I had what amounts to a chocolate hang-over today. That's the only way I can describe it.

Yesterday, I was manic, wired, buzzing, and jittery, and today - I crashed hard. Dull headache, couldn't focus, just wanted to sleep, listless, and somewhat nauseous. Felt hung-over. That's literally what it felt like - a hang-over. Except, I had not had one drop of alcohol. Nor was I tempted by alcohol, chocolate - however, that's what I fell off the wagon for. I've been giving in to chocolate and it's making me ill - also I can't stop with just one bite. I want more. I wanted more today - half-convinced that if I had more the hang-over would go away, this after a restless night. Actually, I did sleep. Just had funky nightmares. [I dreamed that I was waiting in line to use a dressing room at a clothing store, had to dash off to get something - so left my clothes to mark my space in line and when I returned, someone had stolen my clothes or they were just gone. Doesn't make any sense to me either. Was, however, relieved when I awoke.]

And while I'd love to blame something else - I've been noticing a pattern emerging here. When I give in and have a bite of chocolate? It bites back. And I crave it. You know what this means, right? No more chocolate. Dang it.

Why couldn't it be bananas or papaya?

2. Have caught up on Fargo - which is a surprisingly well-written series with a lot of unexpected little plot twists and hilarious moments. It also had a shoot-out scene that...I've never seen done on tv or in the movies before, and blew me away - also had me laughing my head off. Yes, it's a violent show, albeit not nearly as violent as Game of Thrones or Walking Dead. It's actually fairly tame in comparison to most of the crime/action dramas on.

If you haven't check out this little gem, and you happen to love realistic crime dramas with satiric edge (a la Justified, Breaking Bad, The Wire), and have a fondness for the Coehen Brothers movies - you should check this tv show out. It's on F/X. Has two episodes left in the season. It's a mini-series like True Detective - about 12-13 episodes in all. Which I actually prefer, wish more television series did that. Makes for tighter and far more cohesive plotting. Character development doesn't really suffer that much - you'd think it would, but actually, in a way, the shorter number of episodes concentrates the characters - and ensures less pointless filler, and/or out of character moments.

I honestly think the problem with a lot of television series is the sheer number of episodes they have to crank out each year. 22 episodes is nothing to sneeze at.
Writer burn-out is bound to happen. Usually they kinda sag in the middle, depends on how plot-centric or serialized they are.

Fargo luckily does not have this problem. Reminds me a little of Orange is the New Black - which also doesn't. And no, I haven't seen the second season of Orange yet. I've just finished watching the seventh episode of the first season. Also, I don't have streaming. Please don't spoil me. Had to explain this to co-worker today for the fifth time. People who have streaming capabilities, just don't understand why I don't for some reason.
