After a frenetic couple, okay more than a couple of weeks and weekends, I'm spending a quiet one in my new apt. Adjusting.

Watched the new series The Red Band Society which reminded me a great deal of John Green's novel, The Fault in Our Stars. It focuses on philosophically witty and often times cynically snarky sick kids in a hospital wing. Two have terminal bone cancer resulting in leg amputations. One is in a coma. Another requires a heart transplant. There's also a hypochrondiac and an anorexic. They do go against type.
The anorexic is a brainy teen girl. The heart transplant is a nasty cheerleader. Octavia Spencer portrays the head nurse charged with their care. It's okay, better than most of the other things I've seen lately. On the fence as to whether I'll stick with it or not. Bit young for me - and I don't think I'm the target demographic.

House of Cards is sitting on my tv stand, courtesy of netflix. Also have Fruitvale Station recorded, which I should watch soon. Plus new Doctor Who tonight. So lots of choices. Unfortunately, my mood is few for old school romantic comedy - which is the one thing that is not available. Unless I pop in The Philadelphia Story - I might do that.
