1.) Been writing full speed on new novel, have about 20,298 words so far. Soon, I'm going to have to dump portions of it into Scrivener, because otherwise I'm scrolling through about 100 pages to get where I left off.

Even have a novella that I can write - about how the heroine escapes NYC during a mutant zombie apocalypse.

2.) OUAT Season Finale - well it surprised me. Did I already post on this? I can't remember. Anyhow, I have to admit that I hadn't seen that coming. I thought they were going to do away with magic and leave people trapped in other dimensions, but no, instead they expanded magic and brought up the metaphor of duality, or dark vs. light not being an either/or scenario, with the introduction of a brand new villian, Dr. Jekyll and Mr Hyde. And, they kicked all the characters currently occupying Storybrook back to the Enchanted Forest, except for our leads. In order to bring in a whole new set of characters.

That poor Chinese Dragon, he keeps getting killed or set-up by people. If I were him, I'd find a nice remote island somewhere away from people.

3.) Wed Reading Meme

As an aside, I don't understand why people aren't willing to spend money on books but are willing to spend money on other things. People are always whining on Amazon about spending more than $7.99 on a Kindle book. People are weird about books.

ME? I spend money on books, but procrastinate buying furniture and won't buy jewelry. I also refuse to spend over $30 for a purse or backpack. And...I feel guilty if I buy concert tickets, and often don't, because I think spending more than $30 dollars on a concert and/or sporting event is an absurd waste of money. A musical or theaterical performance, I can justify, because you can't watch it on television or listen to it on CD and really experience it. But a rock concert? And even then, I feel guilty if I spend a lot of money on theater.

So, in short there's a huge disconnect between my brain and most of the people I know regarding the purchase of things.

What I just finished reading?

Silver Borne by Patricia Briggs - it was okay. More celtic mythology, but felt a bit rushed in places. I did like the theme about loss of agency which is consistent throughout and the mystery was well-done. This author is quite good at blending various mythologies with her world-building and plot.
But she sucks at supporting female characters.

Briggs? Don't you any female friends?

What I'm reading now?

River Marked by Patricia Briggs -- much better than the last book in regards to mythology, but the character development could be sharper. I rather like the emphasis on Native American mythology in this novel, with the introduction of the various spirit animals, Coyote, Wolf, Hawk, Thunderbird,
Snake...and the monster in this novel is from Native American mythology, a River Devil.

The heroine continues to be kick-ass and likable. We also meet her father, Coyote, from Native American mythology, aka the Trickster.

4) Read somewhere that there was going to be a Farscape Movie. But is there still a Farscape fandom that would watch it? It's supposed to follow the comics, which hmmm...and be about the adventures of their son, D'Argo, who was raised on earth until he was 19, and is now ready to rejoin his parents in space. He was hidden on Earth, because he was exhibiting powers that attracted various galatic villains, so they hid him there to protect him. (In other words, they didn't raise him? How depressing.) Also reminds me a little bit of Guardians of the Galaxy, which in turn reminded me of Farscape. (Wouldn't it be cool if Starlord was really the son of Aeryn Sun and John Crichton?)
