Watching Gilmore Girls - A Year in a Life, and one of the best lines is Paris Gellar's to her assistant at the fertility clinic : "Go home and try to apologize to your parents those two semesters at Smith wasted on studying Buffy the Vampire Slayer and feminist theory." I really missed the Gilmore Girls. Comfort food for the heart and mind, particularly now.
2. Also saw Captain America: Civil War which felt a heck of a lot more topical than I thought. Surprised me a bit by how good it was. It basically addressed some of the same issues as Batman vs. Superman did, but did a far better job of it. Showed how rage destroys all around us. Miscommunication is often the biggest problem -- people don't listen, except to the rants inside their own heads. And how often due to rage and miscommunication, not to mention demonizing people, you find yourself fighting the wrong enemy or in this instance destroying yourself and the people on your own team.
Reminded me of the United States Presidential Election -- in a nutshell. That was the downside.
Other than that, it was rather entertaining. And ambiguous. Requires a longer review. There's a lot in it that needs to be digested. But I think both characters, Iron Man and Captain America were right and wrong. What's wrong is instead of calmly sitting down and listening to each other, they get combative, talk at each other, and handle their problems through violence. Mainly because that's all either knows. "I'm right, you're wrong." When in truth, they were both right and wrong. And as a result, let the villain win. The villain wanted to divide them and drive them at each others throats and guess what? That's what happened.
Yep, reminded me of our Presidential Election.
