Jul. 3rd, 2018 09:30 pm1. So, my soap opera has introduced a transgender character, and I'm pleasantly surprised to see how accepting the fan board and admin's are of this addition. They are really positive about it, and have gone out of their way to defend and support this story line.
Yes, there is the NASTY (About six people out of thirty responses - most of which are women over the age of 60.). But there's so much positive...there...and this gives me hope. I'm learning to stop and look at the flowers struggling up between bits of ugly volcanic ash and appreciate them.
The world is not a nice place and sometimes the human race appears to be horrid and unsalvagable, but people can surprise you.
Been thinking about the old sci-fi film "The Day the Earth Stood Still" in which an alien visits Earth and delivers a message that humanity in its present state poses a threat to the Universe. Humanity has a choice they can join the others in peace or continue in their present course and be eliminated.
The film ends on a cliff-hanger of sorts..."we will await your answer".
2. Watching Nailed It on Netflix. (The difference between American Baking Reality Series Competitions, Australian Baking Reality Series Competitions, and The Great British Bake-Off is the following: 1) the British Show doesn't give away money as a prize, 2) The British Show is civilized and kind.
Note to self - money doesn't equal kind.
The point of Nailed It is basically to make fun of people and lightly humiliate the amateur bakers by forcing them to create insanely difficult cakes in an unrealistic period of time. ( I mean 45 minutes to put together a cake, decorate it, and present? Really?) It feels more like a social psychology experiment gone haywire than a baking show.
3. Allergies are driving me nuts again. Chest is congested, again.
4. Decided to take the rest of the week off, give myself a little five day stay-cation. Not sure what I'm doing with it yet. Just chilling.
