The woman has a great voice, but very weird.
2. Ah smartbitches.com always good for a chuckle..they posted this link to a reddit blog about a reader who well was having issues accessing her Amazon account... Forgetting My Amazon Password
I can actually relate. I've been doing the same thing -- buying a lot of romance novels and weird genre books. I like e-books, you can read anything under the planet.
3. If you are on Twitter and love dogs...or rather "drawings of dogs" THIS is for you.
4. Anyone who is into Wonder Woman -- Scans Daily does scans of Vintage Wonder Woman Comics, explaining her origin story.
5. Tried the Beverly Hills 91210 Reunion and was reminded of why I didn't like the show, the only actor on it that I didn't want to strangle was Luke Perry, and he's dead.
6. I realized when I was trying to read the Buffy Comic reboot via BOOM Comics, that there was a problem. The only character that I still give a fig about is well, Spike. I don't know exactly when that happened...maybe sometime during S8-S9 Buffy Comics...but I reached a point that I really only cared about Spike, no one else.
That's a problem. And whenever I re-watched? I found myself skipping episodes that didn't contain Spike. So there you go. An ensemble series doesn't work if you only care about one character -- and the character is a supporting or guest character most of the time.
The Buffy Comic reboot via Boom, sorry to say, doesn't really feature Spike that much except as a side-line, guest character.
The X-men on the other hand, I actually do like characters other than Cyclops. So not as much a problem. Also it's better written.
7. Toni Morrison stated in an interview -- when someone asked if she ever considered writing white characters -- that this was akin to asking a white person if they ever considered writing black characters or people of color. And really do you?
Well. Hmmm. I don't see how writing characters of another race is all that different than writing them of another gender, sexuality, religion etc. As long as you do it justice and don't generalize.
I think it would be rather limiting to just write about men, or just women, or just cisgendered, or just heterosexual or just white people. It's not my world. It seems unrealistic to me. I don't live in a world with only black people or only white people or only heterosexuals.
Yes, yes, I get her point and she's absolutely right. I just refuse to limit myself is all. You can do whatever you want.
My Grandmother had a saying that I rather adore..."I don't care what the other fella does as long as he doesn't impose it on me. Or make me do it." Agreed. Do what you want, believe what you will - but if you expect me to follow suite, we are going to have words. Just saying.
My Grandmother didn't like authority all that much either.
8. Stealing time to write my book...but god it's long, this is going to be hell to revise. 610 pages and counting. I'm going to have to cut half of it.
