Mar. 9th, 2020 05:55 pmHad a lovely massage at Red Moon, was about 75 minutes, with 15 minutes of sinus relief. Worked wonders on my shoulders, arms and neck.
Then came home and had to deal with lots of banging next door - they are installing new electrical breaker panels in all of the apartments. The first day they install the panels, the next one they install two new outlets in the kitchen, the third - they paint. And no, these days aren't necessarily consecutive. Since I moved to NYC in 1996, I feel like I've constantly been dealing with construction. When I retire - I'm moving far far away from anything to do with construction or so I hope.
I'm a little worried. They are supposed to start at 8:15 am and be out by 5 PM, but they appear to be still working in the apartment next to me. I'm not sure how I'm going to handle coming home to a mess in my hallway tomorrow - I just got my allergies under control. I've had two full days without coughing at all.
Beautiful day today, seventy-two degrees, bright blue sun streaked sky. Robin's egg blue, with no clouds marring it's surface. And budding trees reaching towards the sky. So I took a lot of long walks.
After lunch, I took off to the park and walked to the lake to watch the Canadian Geese and mallards. Along with people. But mainly geese. The foliage was still a brittle brown with spots of green budding here and there. Then my bladder, which I'd managed to ignore for thirty minutes screamed at me to get a move on. So I went home and had a slice of the birthday cake (gluten-free) that I got at Whole Foods, and idiotically a Ritter Sport Marzipan Dark Chocolate bar -- idiotically - because I have type 2 diabetes and I can feel the tingling in my toes and hands. I have to go off this stuff completely -- and I'm procrastinating. It's frigging hard to go off stuff on your own. So, just a tad grouchy due to the sugar buzz.
Ah, the men next door have stopped. I hope they cleaned up after themselves? I'm supposed to get towels from Brooklyn Linen today but they've not shown up as of yet.
Watched Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist which I'm still enjoying -- even though at times if feels a bit like chomping into a ball of cotton candy. Ugh. The Sugar Rush!
Anyhow lovely day. So, I'm grateful for the day, the tv show, and the massage. Also finding tiny hand sanitizers. (You would not believe how hard it is to find these things. I'm now seeing signs limiting the number people can buy per checkout. And in one case - a close out sale -- indicating that they'd sold out of masks, surgical gloves, hand sanitizers, disinfectant wipes, and rubbing alcohol. Oh well, at least some people are going to be really clean.)
