Day #2 of Year 2 - Completely Vaccinated!

Before I commit to watching Justice League - I should do my isolation update. Although isolation is kind of relative in a city with 12 million, but whatever.

I texted both cjl and Wales, and got no response. I've decided not to worry about it. One of my big take-a-ways from 2020-2021 is I've no control over most stuff - so why worry?

I did however worry over the vaccine. Frigging people on FB scared me. ( getting the vaccine )

Didn't sleep well last night - so the fact that I'm not fatigued today makes no sense.

Oh well.

Work was plaguing me last night - the annoying lawyer sent us a question at 4:45pm yesterday - which plagued me and my project manager. Or rather it plagued me, I don't know about my project manager - I'm guessing it bugged her too - or she wouldn't have waited until the very end of today to send pesky lawyer our response.

Today, project manager sent me her cobbled together response, and I edited it, and project manager wisely waited until the very end of today to send it to pesky lawyer. That way the lawyer couldn't ruin our weekend with another annoying question.

Overall, things are okay here...mother is miserable from her doctor's appointment. It didn't go well. ( Read more... )

Mother did point out to me the other night that I had more of a support system than I realized. I have my family, my co-workers, my church, the people I correspond with on DW, FB, GH fan board (FB), friends here and there on FB or email...while there are people out there who have nothing.
My heart bleeds for them.

One of my co-workers (over in Transit) who I met via church, is busy scheduling strangers for the vaccine - she also volunteers at one of the vaccine sites. She reported the following on FB:

Ian: Is this JS?
J: Yes?
Ian: This is Ian, Gilbert gave me your number.
J: Gilbert? Whose Gilbert?
Ian: From the Wine Store.
J: I think you have the wrong number?
Ian: I was told you could help me get the vaccine?
J: Oh, yes, of course, how can I help?

J reported she had no idea who Gilbert was. But there are people who have figured out the scheduling system - such as J - who are helping others get scheduled. These folks are my heroes. I wish I could help - but I can't navigate a scheduling system. I was lucky to get it without having to do that. The Universe via Crazy Company took pity on me - and scheduled me at a site nearby, that was easy to get to, and I could find with no problems. Wales was envious - she wanted to go there too. (But alas no, it's Crazy Agency Employees only). Crazy Agency is giving all its employees the Pfizer, and I'm thinking it got set up to do this because of the state agencies - crazy company lost among the most due to the virus, and had the most get sick. Also the quicker it gets all 75,000 vaccinated, the faster it can bring everyone back to work.
