Year 2 - Day 125...
Jul. 21st, 2021 10:58 pmI'm doing this almost compulsively now. It's almost 11 pm. I spent the last two-three hours trying to figure out how to pack a weekend's worth of clothing in a backpack. ( packing for a three day weekend or rather a two day weekend is not as easy as it looks, particularly when traveling by train )
Anyhow, enough...mother doesn't know when they are scheduling the hip replacement. She told me her sister may be able to come and help her. Both her sister and cousin understood why I couldn't help - and well, my brother is my brother. Although he might do it, not clear, he has a lot on his plate at the moment - with his kid needing to get her wisdom teeth out, and heading off to London in September - he may not even in the country at the time.
And yes, there's the stupid on-going pandemic, because the FDA won't get off its prissy behind and approve the vaccines already. (I don't know why - it approved the sketchy Alzheimer's drug. The media has been blasting the FDA on this for months now, as has the various state and federal governments. Pfizer will get approved first, then Moderna - and once that happens, they can mandate vaccinations for everyone.]
Nervous about Amtrak - it's 90% full (everyone is traveling at the moment).
Hoping I can get a seat alone, but doubtful. Oh well, will wear the mask, should be fine. I'm vaccinated, as are all my family members. It does however have a pre-covid screening so should be fine. Bro says a negative test is not required. (Any more than it is for the other railroads.
Here's a photo...and reminder, I won't be posting Friday and Saturday, I don't know about Thursday yet. Depends on how I do with the packing issue.
