Aug. 12th, 2022 09:27 pm1. Anne Heche died... [ She was only 53 years of age - from severe brain damage after a car crash.]
2. Currently watching an old Elvis Documentary Film (1970) - it's his recording sessions in 1970 prior to his Vegas show. Shortly after his comeback.
Fascinating to watch him - he is truly a master musician, I'm watching as he conducts his band, figures out the phrasing, and exactly how to interpret the song, what notes to emphasize and where with his voice - which he utilizes with the mastery of trained singer. The range - woah.
And he acts his songs with his whole body. He also pulls performances out of those around him. I didn't realize he played the piano and the guitar.
Borrowing heavily from other musicians, he also recorded their songs, and they recorded his. He also recorded Get Back and Bridge Over Troubled Water.
I like Elvis because he's interesting to watch and exceedingly charming.
ETA: Oh my god....during the singing of Love Me Tender - he goes around the stage and literally kisses all the women surrounding it, and shakes hands with various guys in the audience, then he goes out into the audience and kisses various people.
I did not know he did that. It does...however, explain a lot. I now know why people went nuts over him.
Although now - it's kind of cringe-inducing. (Because, COVID, not to mention Monkey Pox - that's just a contagion event waiting to happen.)
3. The week beat my brain up. So, I'm taking a long weekend. To breath. And not think too much.
