1. Watched Zoey's Extraordinary PlayList Christmas Special on the Roku Channel (I've a Roku Smart TV, so it was free with commercials). Better than expected, also weirdly comforting and cathartic. Zoey for those who don't know - is the story about a woman who can hear everyone's heart song (basically they burst out singing and dancing whenever they feel emotional - but only she can see and hear it). Along the way she loses her Dad, and falls in love. This would be the first Christmas spent with him dead - and everyone is taking off to do their own thing, and she desperately wants to hold onto how things were - as a means of holding on to him.

The songs are a mixed bag - there's only three that I really liked: Wish You Were Here, Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, and Time After Time.

At any rate, it was what I needed to watch tonight, and oddly comforted me.
I kind of needed a hard cry.

2. Netflix finally dropped episode 11 of Sandman. I'd been wondering what happened to it. I was told 11 episode and had only seen 10.

They dropped an eleventh episode that combines "A Dream of a Thousand Cats" and "Calliope" - two seemingly stand-a-lone short story issues in Vol #3 - "Season of Mists". I honestly didn't think they'd attempt "A Dream of Thousand Cats" - it's not really integral to the story...you can get away with not doing it. Also it would be a touch hard to pull off. But they did do it.

I've not seen either yet. But here's the trailer for the episode.

Sandman Episode 11 Trailer

I'm starting to remember both - now that I'm thinking about it. I listened to them a week ago on Audible. James McAvoy who played Dream in the Audiobook, is coming back in another role, as are David Tennant and Michael Sheen who played Loki and Lucifer respectfully in the audiobook.

3. And Fox is doing another take on a Country Music Musical Soap Opera, think Nashville meets Dallas or Succession. Actually it makes me think of a Country Music version of the series Empire.

Trailer to Monarch

It has a better cast than Nashville did. Susan Sarandon and Trace Adkins, Anna Friel, and multi-platinum artist Beth Ditto. It also has cameos by many country music stars.

4. House of Dragon is premiering soon on HBO Max...curious to see if it's worth watching.
