2. I am making headway through Project Hail Mary - which is like reading a story through the gaze of a biological sciences teacher and frustrated bio-engineer. He makes first contact with aliens - kind of interesting to see that through the point of view of a bio-engineer turned biological sciences teacher.

3. I got my shoes from Ryka finally. They don't fit. I'm trying to make them fit. Something tells me that I'm going to fail. But it took about two months to get them - I'm having troubles getting myself to turn around and send them back. (I suck at that - hence the reason I have one too many pairs of shoes I can't wear and have no idea what to do with.)
This online shoe shopping thing is not quite as simple as it looks.
Mother: No, that only works when you are buying the same shoe again.
I kind of thought I was, apparently not.
Oh, well, maybe I can stretch the things out?
I feel like I keep flailing in the shoe buying department.
4. Well, I no longer agree with vaccine mandates. I did until I ran into folks who had severe reactions to the vaccine. ( Read more... )
I, however, have been lucky. I've not had any side-effects outside of a sore arm. Same with my other co-workers.
As cubicle aisle mate pointed out - our bodies are unique and the biological differences between us often major. ( Read more... )
I don't tend to get side-effects with shots. Never really have. I'm just sensitive to drugs like THC and Oxycodenine, actually codenine period. Those make me nauseous.
Palaxoid - the anti-viral - appears to be making mother nauseous. She doesn't think it is COVID. And is beginning to wonder if she should have taken it. (I was leery of it - because I'd heard there were some strange side-effects. That's why I didn't push her to take it. I didn't tell her not to either. Mainly because I didn't know. )
