1. Update on the air purifier from Amazon. Read more... )

After about an hour with it on? I already feel the postive effects. I'm less congested.

2. Today was a touch better - it didn't look like we lived on Mars. The sky wasn't orange or dulled brown.

3. COVID

Yes, people are still getting COVID. Read more... )

4. I've decided my friend is nuts. Or horribly naive. Read more... )

5. I was talking to Mother, and neither of us could really decide if we were actually depressed or floating along?

Me: I don't know if this is depression or not? I just don't care much about anything. I'm not upset about it. I'm kind of ambivalent. And don't feel much at all...except for vague annoyance and times, and some enjoyment.
Mother: That's not depression. You're just getting along. I feel much the same way.

Need to get back to working on my book. I kind of get shut-down, distracted by the whole A03 thing.

Artist's Way reared its head again - Church sent out a survey with options, re-doing the course, meeting monthly in support groups, checking in from time to time, sponsoring an art show. I indicated interest in checking in from time to time when I have time and interest, and the Art Show. I have a lot to show. I just have to get it framed and in a position to show it.

Also need to buy a new printer - that can print off photos, current one doesn't work.

6. Finished Finding Me by Viola Davis - the first part was really good, then it kind of went downhill around the time she met her hubby.
Oh her life took off and all was well in that regard, it's just she kind of goes into the whole - look how great my life is now mode. I got bored. And
she's very religious - she praises God for everything she has and has obtained. She doesn't appear to know how she climbed out of poverty, and praises God for this, and luck.

Not the most self-aware person on the planet. But then again, it is called "Finding Me".

I could have told her how she achieved what she had - she tells us in the first half of the book. She's driven, and focused on getting ahead. I mean she really is - she goes the extra mile. She knew exactly what she wanted and put 100% into it, regardless of what people put in front of her.

It's not that I don't believe in God, or the Universe or a Source. But testimonials about God tend to make me itchy. And the last section of this book reads a lot like a born-again testimonial. I kept expecting to hear a couple of Praise Jesus's after each sentence. She did throw one or two in there. (I like the actress, but the book did not endear her to me as expected.)

I've moved on to the audio book: Burn it Down by Maureen Ryan, read by someone else - so far she's discussed Leslie Moonoves and Scott Rudin. Rudin gets more discussion. And the story she relates for Rudin is about a young man who worked for him - and ended up committing suicide as a result. It's tragic.

Apparently Friday Night Lights was a lovely set to work on. But X-Files had two jerks. (I already knew that.) Mooves, head of CBS, I already knew was a piece of work - Sarah Joy Brown of GH, left a job because he was gaslighting her. He's also the one who enabled Matt Laurer. Scott Rudin, we all kind of know about.

Once I finish Fire Burns Below - Cadence #2 by Rebecca Ross, I'm thinking of starting Witch King. I'm kind of on a fantasy kick at the moment, having burned out on romance novels.
