These doctor appointments, lab tests, etc are eating into my vacation time and personal days, damn it. Read more... )

Enuf on that. Work is busy, and enjoyable. I like being busy. And it's not boring. They've managed to somehow strip away all the things that I hated about my job and kept the things I rather liked, plus put me in a location I wanted to work in - with a view. It's like I finally got my wish list - without any effort on my end to get it? (Outside of working my ass off and being patient and resilient - so maybe I did put some effort into it? There's something to be said for being resilient.) I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop and have decided to enjoy it while it lasts. (The other shoe may be - Breaking Bad retiring on me, although he doesn't appear to want to. I'm praying he waits five more years. But it's doubtful.)

February Memage:

1. Would you rather watch a sport or play a sport?

Depends on the sport? Cubicle Mate is a Chief's fan (she likes Patrick Malhoune). I'm not. I'm rooting for the Eagles. (Although I'd root for anyone other than the Chiefs, the only teams I hate more than the Chiefs are the Broncos and the Patriots...however - I do have a fondness for the Eagles - I spent my childhood in PA, and outside of Philly, and my father and his extended family is from that area, mainly though I'm a Giants fan). But I don't tend to watch football - the appeal is lost on me. I'm not really a fan of spectator sports? Unless it's something like gymnastics, figure skating, or diving. I do like watching races.

Would I rather play the sport? Probably not. I did enjoy swimming and track. But ball oriented sports tend to scare me - I can't tell where the ball is. And I'm not a fan of competition.

2. It’s American author and TV cooking show host Ina Garten’s birthday (TV’s Barefoot Contessa), do you own many cookbooks?

Yes. Many. Mostly gluten-free or paelo at the moment. Although - I also have the Good Housekeeping and Betty Crocker ones, which are insanely helpful. Salt Acid Heat - also helpful. And various ones for the Nutribullet and Ninja Creami. I like cookbooks. They all sit in a row in the windowsill of my kitchen. I had to get rid of a few - that I couldn't use (non-gluten free cookbooks...mostly, that took up too much room, and a lot of redundant ones.) Also I don't tend to use them that often - I'm an intuitive cook and figure it out as I go.

3. Have you changed your hairstyle much over the years? Have you ever had a disastrous hairstyle?

Not really. Although I did recently get a very different hair style - finally got a stylist who was willing to give me bangs. It looks great. But it's mainly a bob that can grow out, until I get around to cutting it again.

And yes, I've had bad hairstyles, one that I tried to fix with disasterous results - won't do that ever again - that was when I was in college and attempted to cut my own bangs.

4. It’s Alice Cooper’s birthday – are you familiar with his music?

Yes. He's not bad. But not a fav either. I did download his pandemic song.
But my fav is School's Out.

I have eclectic taste when it comes to music. There's very little that I don't like. (I'm not a music critic or vulture. I'm a music junkie.)

5. Have you ever seen a film/movie at the cinema more than once because you loved it so much?

Yes. I saw Black Panther twice at the movie theater. I also saw Star Wars twice, Empire Fights Back twice. And I saw Back to the Future twice (although not because I loved it). I may have seen BladeRunner twice and Dirty Dancing twice, can't remember.

And Gross Point Blank and Long Kiss Goodnight, I saw more than once.

And I remember seeing Die Hard more than once. (It was just a dollar when I was in school in Colorado - and we'd go to the dollar theater - and see movies more than once.)
