1. Finished S1 of Surreal Estate - which is available on Hulu. S2 is now available on Syfy and On Demand, by episode. (Can't binge all of S2 yet).

I was not overly impressed with the cast, although they were compelling and good for Syfy. (I've been watching things like Good Omens and Foundation). But, then I was hunting for information on how to access Episode 1 of S2, when I discovered that Tim Rozon (who played John Henry "Doc" Holliday in Wyonna Earp, was playing Luke Roman and got blown away). He is unrecognizable. I honestly would not have thought they were the same actor.
At all. Mannerisms, vocalizations, everything is different. So, now, I'm suddenly impressed. (I was watching Wyonna mainly for Rozon.)

There's a few other standouts, Zooey, August, and the gay priest are all interesting, and Susan Ireland's telekinetic is slowly growing on me. (She looks too much like a lot of other actresses out there - and for a bit I had to work to tell her apart from Megan, who leaves the cast after the first season - and I found more appealing.)

It's a cast and show that grows on me as it goes. By about the second episode I was hooked. Actually I was hooked after the first. I love the haunted house trope. And this inserts just the right amount of humor into it. It's kind of a "ghost or haunting of the week" mystery series. Which works better for me than the monster or murder of the week.

Also, the concept is rather original - real estate agents sell haunted houses.

Client: Are you a ghost hunter or something?
Luke Roman: No, I'm a real estate agent.

So now, I'm watching S2 - which appears to have 9-10 episodes as well. And S3 appears to be on the horizon. This is an ideal series for Syfy - it's not that expensive to produce (unlike Wyonna Earp), and it has a fairly wide audience. Also like Wyonna, there is an LGBTA relationship, and a diverse cast. The leads are still white - they've not quite kicked past that. At any rate - it's addictive and I'm enjoying it. Has a few jump scares, but I wouldn't say it was that scary, nor is it gory or violent. (Wyonna Earp was scarier and much more violent.) It also does a good job of building characters gradually over time.

2. Didn't do much today - outside of laundry, shower, and laying about watching television. Didn't want to do anything. I'm decompressing before a couple of really busy weeks. The next few weeks are kind of jam packed, also I'm flying to Hilton Head next weekend to visit Mama for a week (it's for her birthday). Then the next week is wall to wall teams meetings that I have to facilitate and host. And, as if that were not enough - I have doctor's appointments I've scheduled in there.

Figure the best approach is one day at a time. But it is making it hard to have a social life or do much outside of work, doctor's appointments, and visiting relatives.

Not that I'm complaining per se - I've very grateful to have all of the above.

It was cold in my apartment this morning. Considering how warm it has been of late - this was a welcome change. But it also required, as the day progressed, duct taping the gape between the top of my living room window. It was gaping a tad - or enough to let in the cold air. And I couldn't get it fully closed, so out came the duct tape. Yes, I should get it fixed - but they have a lot of things to fix at the moment, and the management and landlords are Jewish - so with all the Jewish High Holidays - things have been delayed.
