I should go to bed, but I don't want to. (Probably because of the bad dreams and fitful sleep.)

Anyhow, apparently this year's Hugos had an issue because... Chinese Censorship
and was a touch controversial.. Hugo Nomination Statistics and we have questions.

This time around RF Kuang's Babel, considered the front-runner was left off the ballot sheet.

Scalzi also discusses it.

They have another Talented Mr. Ripley film premiering on Netflix - this is technically the sixth time it was been adapted to film (it we don't count Saltburn).

I'm wondering about a culture that adapts this story five - six times, but won't adapt other books.

Oh, I was thinking about this a moment ago, and here's a list of books that I've re-read multiple times:

1. Trojan Gold and Night Train to Memphis by Elizabeth Peters (I've been known to re-read both, and had so many times, I can pretty much recount them by memory for the most part. For me, when I read a book - it's like a movie is playing out in my head, writing one is kind of similar. I've a visual memory.)

2. The Hobbit

3. Sandition by Jane Austen and the Other Lady

4. The Scarlett Pimpernel by Baroness Orczy

5. A Calculated Risk by Katherine Neville

6. The Illona Andrews Magic Bites/Kate Daniels Series (I've re-read that about four times now).

7. Ulysess by James Joyce - (re-read it three times, twice for two different classes, and did my thesis on it)

It's never great books that I re-read, but fun ones that have something that intrigues me about them, either a romance or a character. Or a writing style makes me laugh.

So, yes, I re-read books. I also re-watch things. I'm debating doing a re-watch of Northern Exposure which has popped up on Amazon Prime, apparently.

I've rewatched:

1. Buffy (about ten times, finally got to the point in which it was memorized and didn't need to watch it any longer - I can replay it in my head)

2. Angel (about five times - so ditto)

3. Farscape (three times)

4. MASH (five times - so ditto)

5. Star Wars/Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi - four or five times (I've got them memorized too)

6. Lawrence of Arabia (three times - once on the big screen)

7. Raiders of the Lost Arc (five times - it's memorized)

8. Blade Runner (five times - also memorized)

9. Noises Off (three times)

10. Spirited Away (three times)
