Mother: The female swimmers, gymnasts, and runners appear to have no bust. None at all. They are all rather flat-chested.
Me: They have a bust..maybe their suits just minimize it?
Mother: not much of one..and no it's not their suits. And the runners seem to have none at all.
Me (thinks about it): well, it kind of makes sense, if you think about it? I mean..
Mother: It would get in the way.
Me: Pretty much. It's kind of hard to run a fast race or swim one with big boobs getting in the way. (I know I've run with a small bust and with a big one, and swam with a big bust and without on...and yes there is a difference.) Also adds weight for a gymnast.

I noticed the female bikers don't either.

Fencers? Hard to tell. Archers? Same.

Trampoline and divers? Nope.

Actually the male gymnasts had bigger chests. Athletes kind of require lean muscled bodies with little to no body fat. Swimmers have a bit more, but not much. Less body weight, faster you go. Many of the runners are very thin.

If you want to see the differences between male and female anatomy? Watch the Olympics. It's obvious in some places. Like gymnastics. The men are almost all upper body strength, while the women seem to be long legs or strength is in their legs. Although in skateboarding and BMX bike - I honestly couldn't tell the gender. And I can't say I could tell with the skateboarding either, or the equesterian.

By the way, Krauser shot put is kind of amazing. He's this huge guy who sends the put very far. (I tried the shot put in high school or junior high track and field, and it's hard. I couldn't send it far. Krauser won - three in a row gold medalist. Can see why.

The female gymnasts these days have a lot more flesh on them than in the 1970s - some of those were positively emaciated. I think they brought in some rules to stop young gymnasts' growth being slowed down deliberately And I did notice some wobbling of the chest area as the ladies ran up the the vault.

Yeah it's not surprising as they have very reduced fat content. There are also shifted body frames depending on their sport.

Boobs are primarily fat. Anyone who is a competitive athlete probably is very low in body fat, so boobs would be the first thing to go. And tight uniforms would smush what is there very flat so as to keep them out of the way, so....

Yes, muscle is bulky. Some sports require a lot of weight behind them, so fat is a non-issue for those people. But, even they usually have a lot of muscle under the fat. Competitive sports of any sort are going to burn calories at a rate most of us can only dream of.... Although, don't you swim a lot? Or am I confusing you with someone else on my flist?

Ah, okay, I did confuse you-in that I thought I was still talking to the person above you on my flist. LOL. I never worried about calories when in lived in the city (DC) wouldn't give up my legal parking space for anything! However, that was decades ago and now I can't walk at all for a while. *sigh* I do think it is, all other things being equal, the best exercise.
