I think Amanda Palmer can be rather impulsive and doesn’t always think before she puts something out. I remember that. I think people made more of it because she’s from Boston. (Or at least MA). I agree, lots of terrible people made good things. Some of the stuff I won’t watch/read/look at, some I will. I was Never into Harry Potter so it’s no problem for me not to support Rowling. She’s somebody who seems particularly blind to her audience though considering a large number of her audience were queer kids, apparently the stories particularly appealed to queer kids, and now they feel betrayed. She would have done better to embrace them like eg Kylie Minogue did with her gay fans. And stand up - I like it, to me it’s better if they don’t punch down (eg it is fine to make fun of politicians but not so much a disabled person, at least not because of their disability).
