It's been a long day, and the commute just made me increasingly irritable. I didn't email my book back home to me, because I didn't really work on it today (I work on it at home email it to myself at work - and work on it during down-times, which are frequent - since I wait on other's for work and appear to be faster and more efficient than they are.) Instead I started a character spreadsheet - which is hard for me to do - since I'm an intuitive writer not a planner. I'm the same with art. I don't take measurements, or use a ruler, or any of that. Instead I just go with my gut.

Digital artists are more technically inclined and into measurements. While fine artists tend to be more intuitive.

Below is a rough sketch of a woman I saw standing on the sidewalk on the way to the grocery store yesterday.

I did it quickly. Without thinking about it. I tend to go into a zone of sorts when I draw. Same thing happens when I spin a story.

It makes me happy at any rate, and I like my own art. And I'm sharing it here - just in case it makes someone else happy or they like it too? If not, that's okay - I trust they'll scroll on by with barely a howdy-do.

And this popped up in my FB feed from Janis Ian...moments ago:

It's true. I've stopped bothering with critics or criticism some time ago.
When I critique something - I am figuring out why it doesn't work for me, and at the same time whether it will work for someone else.

There was another thing I found on FB recently...

If you can't see it? It says that "we don't see things as they are, we see them as we are", which I think speaks volumes about how differently we all react to things.
