Productive weekend, more or less.
I cleaned out about half of my front storage closet or pantry on Saturday. Stopped due to a wrenched back and blistering headache. All that bending, resulted in a lot of back pain - which was remedied with a heating pad, and Aleve. The headache was relieved by tynenol sinus, and aleve (same one I used for the back pain). The back pain went away faster than the headache, which also required neti-pot, flunase, and antihistimine. But it was gone after I went to bed and closed my eyes.
Today, I went grocery shopping, sorted and switched out summer/early fall for winter clothing, keeping a few t-shirts in case the temperature in my apartment sky-rocketed to 82 degrees again. It's stuck around 65-71 most of the weekend.
I weatherproofed or attempted to weather proof one of the windows, and that raised the temperature from 64 to 67. My nose is no longer an icicle. It's 26-39 degrees F today, I've no clue what that is in Celsius? Thinking somewhere in the single digits? Weatherproofing involved putting little strands of foam rubber along the crevices of my window, and cling see through plastic wrap around the window divider. Then over it? Fairy snowflake lights, and a stained glass window ornament.
Also put up my Charlie Brown Christmas Tree - with just the little lights (small, looks real, with fake snow on the limbs, and yellow lights - battery operated). Next weekend I'll put together the Snoopy one (it's small and has ornaments that come with it, colored lights, and electric chord that plugs in).
Ate a lot of Mexican food. Friday fixed chicken with a special chimickeri sauce (Kevin's Lime Chicken - Paeolo) put it over corn chips, with cheese, and basically made chicken and cheese nachos. With left over quacolomole and salsa. Yesterday, did Chili for dinner, and for lunch today.
Tonight? Intend on doing lamb chops with either aspergus or broccoli or green beans. With chocolate mousse or flan for desert (I found chocolate mousse at Food Town.) Finished the Pumpkin pie, which was small to begin with, on Saturday.
Finished The September House - a horror novel by a social worker/therapist, and I could kind of tell. It's about a woman who lives in a haunted house and is perfectly fine with it. When her abusive husband goes missing, and her estranged daughter shows up hunting for him - things tend to go a bit awry. And it's no longer clear whether the narrator is insane, or if the house is really haunted. It's okay. I was kind of disappointed by it. I am admittedly picky in regards to Haunted House books, with Shirley Jackson's Haunting of Hill House being the gold standard.
Now, flirting among various other books - Long Live Evil, which Smart Bitches rec'd, but I had difficulty getting into, Rules of Redemption - part of the Firebird series of science fiction novels by T.A. White rec'd by the fans of Illona Andrews, and We Used to Live Here - another weird haunted house book.
I also think I got my internet and cable fixed by Optimum. Debating kicking over to Verizon. My brother in a fit of desperation kicked over to Musk's satellite service, because his previous provided was failing every 15 minutes.
Here's photos from a walk I took, which may or may not be visible - FB to DW links are wonky.
