There's a lot of stuff on e-bay that you can buy at a fixed price. The sellers are usually quite responsive, and you can send stuff back if it is not right. I've had as many bad experiences with Amazon with returns as I've had with e-bay (one or two.) I just pick the sellers with the good ratings. I hardly ever bid on things - but it is exciting when you get something special at a price you didn't expect! (I got a reel of film from a 1972 show for £5 - I'd prepared myself to go up to £100.)
