This poem specifically describes yogic duality (as from the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali), it is interesting to read something like this. If it was written by someone in India or China when I would think that that is how them meant it, but of course many people experience the same feelings without having studied Budhist or Hindu philosophy.... It is very beautiful and I'm happy to have the chance to read it.
