Jenny and Shane's reactions differ because of their differing experiences. Shane is used to be treated as a sexual object. She is what you describe your brother and JM--a sexual magnet. Women and men both come on to her all the time, and...I'm not sure if you've seen this part yet, where we see a vulnerable moment for Shane in a Catholic confessional where she opens up about how awful that makes her feel. That people don't see her beyond her body, what *she* can do for *them*, and how she feels she doesn't have the right to refuse them.
But she's used to living that way, and though it angers her to be treated as an object, she's got this resignation about it. She moves on.
Jenny, on the other hand--we are only starting to get into her sex/power issues at this point in the season, but she's got some major issues surrounding it and they inform her reaction to Mark. But I like how she doesn't let him get away with making even the fall-out of his sins "all about him", so that she, the violeted, is invisible again.
