Yeah, I think NBC deserves some credit for being fairly cutting edge: they had avoided going for a lot of 'reality'/non-scripted shows, but had relied too heavily on their Law & Order franchise (most of which I find unwatchable, I only ever liked the original L&O, kind of the way I've only ever liked classic coke...). However this year they really do have the most interesting innovative new shows. Of course I've gotten disillusioned with Lost and Desperate Housewives and find I don't mind missing those (I'll still tune in occassionally to see if anything interesting is happening).
I hope Ugly Betty survives, I'm enjoying that a lot. It doesn't have an intriguing structure or great writing, but I find it to be enormous fun.
