I can't believe this - The New York Giants Just WON the Superbowl!

[ETA: the below was written as it was happening.]
Well, at least the NYGiants aren't getting creamed by the Patriots. This is good. It would be a huge deal if the Giants won tonight, since the Patriots are the favored team and undefeated for this season. Plus they creamed the Giants in their last match-up. So far it's 10/14 and OMG!!! New York just scored a freaking major touchdown in the last 39 seconds of the game and the score is now 17/14 Giants! I can't believe this. Went to rewind to see that again. (I'm not into football, folks. But this is MAJOR.) It is 17/14. Only 37 minutes left. I think the Giants may have just won the Superbowl against an undefeated team no less.

Wait, they have three time-outs remaining and all the Patriots need is a field goal to tie.

I was going to go to bed soon, but now I riveted to the tv screen. Come on Giants.

Ten seconds left. Another time out. Patriots haven't scored.

Even with the clock stopped...its still ten seconds.

Have the Giants just beat the Patriots? Did NY finally beat Boston? Dare we hope? A wild-card team against a 18-0 team?? Is it possible?

Two seconds left as the Giants take over...all they have to do is run out the clock...one second is remaining on the score board.

People have flooded the field. But they are pulling them off the field. Screaming Eli Manning.

Geeze...this is why I hate football, all this freaking waiting around and watching people wait around. No other sport is this frustrating to watch.

OMG! They announced it. The GIANTS have just won the Superbowl! Who-weee!!

People at work are going to be happy campers tomorrow. Cool!
[ETA: This is a historic event, one of the major upsets in football history.]

Congratulations (to you as a New Yorker...)
I had the TV on waiting for House to start, but I didn't have the sound on, so I hadn't known who had won.....

Now I have to keep monitoring the TV waiting for House to start....
sigh

Ugh. At least you got to see House. Because of the Superbowl running overtime, my DVR ended up taping the Superbowl and only the first 30 minutes of House. I tried to get around the problem by taping the program after it, but apparently had to tape both of them.

This is the one downside of DVR's. Although ran into the problem with VCR's too.

So...assuming of course that you saw it? What happened in the last 30 minutes? Did the patient die or survive? And was it auto-immune syndrome? She'd collasped and they were trying to ring the cell phones of her team members, when it stopped.

Not Auto-immune, House was totally falling in love with her, and she kept psychoanalyzing him, it was a great episode (don't they rerun it in another week on TNT or something?). I hate to spoil it for you if you can see it re-aired in a week....
yes, here it is: Feb 15th on USA, set your DVR to tape it then....

I know what you mean, I used to set my VCR to tape like 2-3 hours if a show was scheduled to follow a sporting event, because you just couldn't know when it would really end.

I did post one spoiler about last night's House at my lj, but I really think you should set your DVR to get the whole show because Mira Sorvino was awesome.

Pretty friggin' incredible, huh? Giants defense was absolutely fantastic; What a performance! They even made Tom Brady curse one time (he's not a robot, after all LOL).

What a RED-HOT playoff run. Even as a hard-core Packers fan, I have to salute the Giants. They deserved to beat us 2 weeks ago (dammitall, GB played like crap) and they deserved this win. Who would've thought 2 "also ran" teams (hell, the Packers weren't even expected to post a winning season) would've end up vying for the shot at the best team in history, and that one of them could actually pull off the upset?!

Good times. Now we'll find out if Randy Moss' behavioral 'turnaround' is legit; this is exactly the type of scenario that used to bring out his most asshatish qualities....
