Yeah, just read a lengthy article on it in AM newspaper - the partner to the Metro. Have no idea why they did this. If it was to help get better candidates - it didn't work. And from what I read in the article? The super-delegates aren't much better than Mayor Daly's machine. Apparently they get to do whatever they please regardless of what the people in their precints or constituencies want. In short - the super-delegates could make if really hard for someone who is not part of the "party line" to get elected.
A better approach would have been to switch to the GOP's winner take all primaries. But what do I know? I've become increasingly frustrated and depressed by politics lately. I'm beginning to think it's an exercise in futlity.
