You touched a nerve here. I guess we all have our personal ghosts. I wrote a few posts about my LJ ghosts that in the past, and my readership didn't take them well.
You're right nothing is permanent and many relationships (romances or friendships)end in real life but usually either something happens to end them, a clash, a betrayal...whatever, or you can see the relationship slowly falling apart.
As for the online relationships, I do hate it when people vanish into the Internet void, disappear without warning, especially people when I thought we were close.
