I think this is why I'm phone phobic...all the pressure to actually communicate, without any of the cues of expression and body language to help me determine how the conversation is going.
God, I hate phones. HATE.
I find writing much easier because I can at least mull it over in my own time. But you are correct; writing is extremely fraught, as well.
