Boring Memes...

Got a meme via email from a friend today, have decided to change the meme and make my own.
Because it has questions such as "favorite tv show at the moment" and "favorite CD" and "what you're looking forward to" - that I really don't have any answers for.
So here's my meme:
Welcome to the 2008 edition of getting to know your friends. Change all the answers so they apply to you.
1.. What time did you get up this morning? 5:45 AM
2. If someone was to give you a particular gift on a spur of the moment, what would make you smile - (books/cds/dvds), chocolates, baked goods such as pies or cakes, jewelry, or pottery?
Usually books, cds and dvds. Although pottery and handcrafted items are cool too.
3. How would you describe yourself politically, are you liberal, conservative, neo-conservative, leftist, right-wing, fundamentalist, independent, libertarian or moderate?
Liberal and slightly moderate
4. Name a tv show that you watch that you don't tell people about outside of a "very" select few, because they will roll their eyes and mock you shamelessly: General Hospital
5. What do you usually have for breakfast? Mesa Sunrise Cereal (corn flakes, amaranthe, and flax and completely gluten-free), blackberries and raspberries with milk
6. What is your middle name? Marie
7. What pisses you off? Smugness
8. Are you easy or hard to get to know? Hard, or so I've been told
9. Hair - long or short? Long, just below the shoulders
10. Coffee or tea? Tea with milk, preferably indian spice tea
11. What characteristics do you despise? bigotry, smugness, homophobia, xenophobia, racism
12. Name something that would make you angry enough to send a letter to your senator or protest? Legislation that infringes on the rights of others to lead peaceful and happy lives - such as slavery, segregation, anti-gay marriage acts, permission to kill women for not being virgins, etc.
13. Name an ability that you wish you had that you don't? Ability to easily learn another language or linguistics. Also wish I could sing, really wish I could sing or play a musical instrument. Would trade my ability to draw in order to sing. Singing I think would be more useful. Drawing hasn't done much for me. Grew bored of it rather quickly.
14. What was your first favorite tv show? Kimba - the White Lion
15. What do you do for a living? I am a contract admininstrator or I negotiate and procure consultant and contractor services for the demolition, construction, and abatement of environmental hazards.
16. How many countries have you visited in your lifetime? 9, 11 if you Scotland and Wales are counted as separate countries.
17. What are you procrastinating at the moment? Printing off my book and sending it to a professional editor who works on my father's novels. He can apparently get me a discount.
18. Who were your best friends when you were 10 years old? Marcy Gow and Debbie Dipeso
Are they still your friends now? Haven't seen them since I was 16. Have no clue what happened to them.
19. Name a literary genre that you adore above all others? Science Fiction/Fantasy
20. Name a guilty pleasure? Superhero or Dark Gritty/somewhat violent Noir Action Comic books
21. Morning person or a night person? Dusk - so night
22. What is your shoe size? 11
23. Name a writer that you admire? James Joyce
24. Recommend two tv shows, two books, two movies, and two musicians:
a. TV Shows: In Plain Sight - USA Network, at 10pm on Sunday ( concerns a middleaged marshal whose main job is to protect witnesses of crimes and find them new lives in Alburgue, New Mexico, it is mostly a character driven drama and suprisingly well written, with strong and likable female characters), Middleman - ABC Family, at 10 pm on Monday Nights (about a female artist, who is training to be a X-Files type superhero, sort of like Emma Peel meets Dana Scully.)
b. Books: Kafka On the Shore by Hariki Marukami (sp?) and ...Kim Harrison's Rachel Morgan novels.
c. Movies: The Dark Knight - a gritty, noirish take on the Batman superhero story, that actually has something interesting to say. Mamma Mia - a fun fluffy musical romance for women over 40.
d. Musicians: Aimee Mann and Nick Cave at the moment
25. What do you find humorous? Satire, dry somewhat subtle sardonic wit, absurd comedy
26. What turns you off? Embarrassment and Humilation. Can't handle watching people being humilated in any way, makes me cringe.
