Oh Angelus wasn't beyond boasting...he boasted about Dru all the time. And Acathla. I got the feeling he didn't kill slayers - he was, remember, more interested in creating monsters from innocents like Drusilla into creatures like himself that he could control and less interested in fighting people - to Angelus it was about the artistry of the kill. Spike it is about the rush.
Key difference between the two. Angel would get off on the power rush of being Twilight. He loves being in authority...the big Daddy. Spike...is more interested in flipping the game board and causing chaos.
