Thanks for the spoiler avoidance-- I haven't been so far, and wish to stay that way. I've wanted to read a few of your other recent Whedonverse posts, but was afraid I might figure too much out.
Anyway:
What I don't understand is why do Amy and Warren support Twilight? If magic ceased - Warren would be dead and Amy would be powerless.
I think because they aren't buying into Twilight wanting to actually do away with magic, any more than I buy into Dick Cheney wanting to make the world safe for democracy. In Cheney's case, the idea was to prop up his wealthy friends in specific and the wealthy and powerful of America in general, which of course he rationalizes into something that is good for the entire country, we peasants included.
My guess is that Twilight wants to get rid of the Slayers, and that's his only true motivation. Whedon has played this deceptive authority card yet again in the recent Dollhouse episodes, which I won't comment on specifically in case you haven't been following them.
If you have, however, I think it will resonate. Whedon keeps covering the same ground on the issues that push his own buttons, he just reweaves the specifics of the tale.
