Agreed on the languages! And it's there throughout the movie. I love how in the opening sequence, Landa suggests switching to English, and I thought it was a cheeky commentary on the way English-speaking movies immediately switch languages to English for the sake of the audience whenever possible, regardless of how much sense it makes. And then finally later in the scene Landa reveals his true reason, and what had seemed a contrivance (or commentary on contrivances if you will) became a major plot point.
