Ha! Oh, very, very good. I feel a little bit weird about talking about the comics these days, because I feel like I completely understand and even agree with, to an extent, the criticisms. But I'm still excited by the story, for reasons I find hard to articulate. I can't really explain what I like about season eight--I can only explain (as I try to in my review, etc.) what I see in it, what I think the story is as opposed to whether I think it's good. I think you and I have very similar takes on the actual "what" of the story, it's just at the evaluation of the quality where we differ. I like that this is a way of Whedon spending lots of time deconstructing and even unmasking his heroes. Yes, I know--he already did this within the series. But not on this scale, and not with this devotion, and not with this bravery and/or stupidity. Anyway--it's very possible that after 40 comes out, and a month or two passes, I'll look back on the comics and say that they, overall, were a waste, a big misstep. But it's so exciting to have more story right now. Anyway thanks for your review and thanks for making me laugh!
