unless they decide to make the Williams brother's arc canon - then yes, Spike while soulless made the prophecy that the godlike creature controlling LA used to manipulate Angel into creating a higher reality.

That's what I'm afraid of actually - that they might do that as a favour to IDW, even though Bill Willingham was horribly rude to Joss and Scott Allie and made a big thing of how his plot was his idea and nothing to do with anything going on at Dark Horse.

However, in the last issue that Willingham scripted, there's a scene where Spike is telling the out of work screen writers that for some reason he's hired to write prophecies for him to write one for Angel that will turn him into some kind of stupid villain called 'end of days' or something like that. Obviously, when Willingham wrote this, he was having a dig at Joss for making Angel Twilight, but that doesn't mean Joss and Allie couldn't use it if they wanted. I know it's probably absurd but I'm quite worried they'll decide to do it to Spike because it gets Angel off the hook. They'd probably try and wank it that it doesn't really matter because Spike did it when he didn't have a soul, but of course a large section of fandom will never let him get away with that the way they let Angel.

I won't be happy until I know once and for all that I'm wrong.
