Really just the one-shot. It's not so much that it worked--I don't think it did--it's that the writers made the effort. In Buffy's case, they didn't, at least not yet. She's arguably less powerful in stature in the comics than she was on the show where no one could stop her. In the comics, there are hundreds of slayers who could. Even with all that, she doesn't appear to have a conscience about any of it--defends bankrobbing, doesn't even feel guilty about Satsu, doesn't blink an eye about letting people die. Chosen to this is never explained. As opposed to Angel where they did at least make an attempt to explain it, even if it was stupid.
As for the roofie thing, Allie has some rather quarky opinions on consent. According to him, they were influenced, but that doesn't let them off the hook when really it's one or the other. He talks out both sides of his mouth on it. IMO, it's because he wants to avoid the consent issues (Buffy didn't know what would happen; Angel did).
Also, it's more than likely Buffy will sacrifice her life for the world
I don't think she will, but even so, that doesn't change anything for me. That's just cleaning up your own mess, unlike S1 or S5.
