Since I really despised Fables, all good! And again...no, we don't have a Jack of Fables, or that chauvinistic wolf. Snow White isn't in charge. And no one remembers who they are. So not a rip off, any more than you can claim True Blood is a rip-off of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
No, from the previews Grimm is actually more like Angel or CSI - in that it actually has *cough*female*cough* main cast members. The man has a wife instead of a brother, a female captain instead of an insane father or uncle, there are no archangels and demons in sight. And it focuses on fairy tales as opposed to old urban legends.
