I'm convinced that everyone on BtVS was cast so that SMG didn't look like a lilliputian.
I remember meeting Amber Bensen once. On the show she was the one who looked 'normal sized' and in reality she was tiny... which convinced me that BtVS was a world where everyone was 3/4 size. :P
(don't know about Ackles size, but I have heard that Paleki is a really big guy.)
