Yeah, casting makes a huge difference, because some actors can make something out of nothing (or at least out of very little). I'm actually giving a lot of credit to the actress who plays Lady Mary, because even when she just looks at someone from across the room she sizzles. She doesn't need to speak. And of course Dame Maggie Smith makes me laugh out loud in almost every episode.
