Back is a lot better - note to self, be more careful. Dialated my eyes today - at the doctor's appt, so vision is wonky.

Cool and damp in NY. But in the 40s. So not bad.

Finished watching the following shows Grey's Anatomy, Nashville, and Merlin.
Also rewatched two episodes of Once Upon a Time - one that focused on how Rumplestilskin met Captain Hook or rather created Captain Hook, and one that focused on Henry's father - when viewed together it is pretty clear who Henry's father is in relation to the Storybrook characters.

It's pretty clear to me right now that Neal Cassaday and Baelfire are one and the same - either that or there are two characters that love hoodies quite a bit, while no one else is into them. I also suspect that Baelfire may be Peter Pan - the nemesis and thorn in the side of Captain Hook in Neverland, which is steeped in irony, since Hook in essence created Pan - as he does in all the recent back-stories.

Rather like the clock imagery throughout both episodes - Tallahassee and the one before it. They are looking for a compass - which is a clock that tells direction and navigates a route, Cassaday stole "golden" watches - and Emma is put in prison for 11 months after she is caught wearing a gold watch, Rumplestilskin goes "tick tock" to Hook - regarding time a wasting, Mulan constructs a sun-dial to determine how long she has before she must chop down the beanstalk that Hook and Emma climbed (although why Emma told her to chop it down in the first place never made sense...unless Emma didn't trust Hook and was telling Mulan to chop it down to prevent Hook from climbing down it without her.).

Also see a weird ass love triangle developing between Cassaday/Swan/Hook.

As hot as Hook is, I have a soft spot for Michael-Raymond James who is a very appealing actor. Although if I were Emma and Cassaday - I'd be pissed at August/Pinnochio for making my life a living hell. He could have manipulated Emma to come to storybrook with Cassaday, without sending her to jail first. Bastard deserves to be wooden.

* Hmmm...just realized where I've heard the last name Swan before - Bella Swan. I'm hoping that's not deliberate.

Nashville is improving, less soapy, more realistic. It surprised me this week - instead of going the cliche soap opera route, it went the realistic route.

* Apparently Rayna's hubby much to Rayna's Daddy and my surprise - knows that Maddie isn't his. I love his response to Daddy's bewildered statement - "You knew?", "Of course I knew, I've always known!" This sheds a whole new light on the Rayna/Teddy relationship.

*Avery's girlfriend, Scarlet decides to hook up with his old band...after he jilted both of them for a record deal. Poor Avery is miserable. While Scarlet is doing pretty well. I actually feel sorry for Avery...he has gotten pulled under by the music biz, forced to sell his soul for pop stardom.

Nashville shines a fairly bright light on the nasty bits of the music biz. But does it with less melodrama than expected. Kudos.

Merlin - is the guy who is playing Morgana's right-hand man, and Saefer's father - the same actor who is playing Davos on Game of Thrones? I know I've seen him before.

This episode was better than I thought it would be. Am learning to ignore certain reviewers.

Speaking of reviewers to ignore? You really can't trust 75% of the amateur reviewers on Amazon or Good Reads can you ? 75% of them sound like they are wet behind the ears teeny-boppers who have lead incredibly sheltered lives and haven't read anything above a third grade reading level (which of course isn't true - the actual teens sound more mature and less grating, go figure) or they are terribly pretentious and you just want to smack them.

Spent forever trying to figure out if the books "Ever After by Kim Harrison" and "Hopeless by Colleen Hoover" were worth buying...and I had to scroll past a lot of "mindless squeeing/raving" for want of a better term. The negative reviews are actually more informative...although the ranting and whining about not being properly warned off the book or how can anyone read this book or how dare the writer write about such things.. can get grating. In short it's all emotional floundering and relatively little critical or constructive thought. I get that books are subjective things...but can you write a review with a bit less emotion dripping from every blasted sentence? Final conclusion? Skip Colleen Hoover novels - well unless you are into one twu luv for the high school set, with sex scenes, incest, and pedophilia (which is in a lot of YA romance novels...making me wonder about well our society). Buy "Ever After" - complex adult sci-fi fantasy morality tale with kick-ass heroine. Although considering the fact that I've read all the other novels in this series and liked them, I was pretty going to do that anyway with Ever After.

I find that Merlin is never as bad as some reviewers make it out to be.

I'm glad you enjoyed the first episode of Merlin... personally I think this is the best season (it made me sad it was the last, but of course it is possible that the writers were taking more risks because it was the last).
