Definitely naive. OTOH...I can't really blame her for hunting an escape route from Dad and Gaston. Actually that was the Disney cartoon version as well - except the Beast was a tad nicer, more likely to be redeemed by love, not to mention far more attractive and far less manipulative than Rumplestilskin.
